About Us

I'm Rock Pun, the founder of MeeBaa. Let me tell you a little bit about my journey and how we came to create the MeeBaa Mesh Messenger.

I've always been fascinated by technology and how it can bring people closer together. I started my career as an electrical engineer in the early 90s, working on cellular phone base stations and Internet routing protocols. Back then, cell phones and the Internet were still emerging technologies, and owning a cell phone was considered a luxury. I remember one time when my car ran out of gas on the side of the road, and I wished I had a cell phone to call for help. That event triggered my interest in researching routing protocols for wireless networks to overcome the limited range of walkie-talkies. I became so interested that I quit my job and turned my garage hobby into a full-time research project on wireless ad hoc networks.

After a year of research, I landed a job with Harris, which gave me the perfect environment to create a brand new ad hoc network protocol called ANW2. During my time there, I created 10 patents related to ad hoc networking, and the first product in the world using ANW2 was launched after 3 years. Years later, a start-up called goTenna invited me to join them to create a simpler ad hoc networking scheme for them.

My experience has inspired me to create the best ad hoc network product for civilian applications - a reliable and easy-to-use communication tool that can be used as a critical survival tool in emergency situations. That’s how MeeBaa was born.

As the founder of MeeBaa, I love this product because it's like a toy for grown-ups - it's fun and innovative, and I'm sure kids would love it too.
